Planting, Cooking and Shopping

Yesterday after Zumba class I stopped to pick up some new house plants for the front foyer. At the point we begin to show the house again, the foyer needs to be spiffy, bright and look like someone is attending to details.
Out with the old...
For that purpose, I got three new plants to replace the old, twisted, broken and dying one. The larger one is Dieffenbachia "Camille", the long leaves are Croton "Sunny Star" and the littlest one is 'Purple Passion,' in purple of course.

Some new dirt, some digging to freshen the pot and a lot of water and spritzing and here's the new planter ready to greet buyers. The pot itself is an old Chinese fish pot purchased in Durham some years back for the deep, rich emerald green color.

In with the new.

Then time to get the crock-pot started for dinner. A small brisket of corned beef, leeks, potatoes, rutabaga, carrots and red cabbage cooked all afternoon to be hot and steaming for dinner. DH was pleased as could be and I felt that it was time we had a really good hot meal in the middle of January.

Wednesday was a tough day, up early to the aquacise class, then off to Graham for a hair appointment before heading to the far side of Greensboro to a tile showroom. Today's trip was about finding tile for the kitchen backsplash to work with the recently selected glass globes on the pendent lights to hang over the island.

Anyone in North Carolina looking for kitchen or bath tile needs to consider Mosaic Tile Company on Spring Garden Street, Greensboro. Mosaic Tile Company

They have a selection of glass mosaics unseen elsewhere in multiple shades of cool greens, aquas and blues.  "Ming" is a combination of glass and stone tiles, set horizontally in pale aqua tints that work with the Forrest Terra color of the countertop.

Off today to do Noriko's Aquacise class at UNC's Wellness center. DH has promised dinner tonight at Merlion, our favoriate Asian restaurant located in Southern Village.
What are my chances of having Pad Thai, again?
Great as I have it every time we eat there.
