UNpacking - Good for the Soul?

Post-moving is fraught with anxiety, "did I have two of these?" where's the other one? "did I pack that or give it away?" who knows?

Top photo shows some of the Corning Wares accumulated over the years - only now I have two medium size-casseroles (and one lid, were there 2?); and two lids from larger graduated sized casseroles with no pots. Those I know I had.

Lower photo shows two individual cobalt blue glass serving bowls BUT where is the larger sized fruit bowl (about 10" dia.) that completes the set?  No way would I have that away.

Best we can figure is that because these were all kitchen items and all packed at nearly the same time there must be another large tub of dish ware - but where?

Or maybe I should begin collecting all over again.

You might be wondering if there is life after moving to a CCRC. . . or in my case what's been happening since the upheaval of late has played havoc with my blog discipline.

One, moving is not for sissies, or apparently not for old ladies either.

Two, during the process of moving I broke the left, 5th metatarsal bone in my foot. Been to doctors, wearing a boot, using a cane the whole nine-yards. When will this torture end?  Come Tuesday, July 31 I have X-rays taken to tell if I can wear real shoes again.

AND lastly, I now write on a new MacBook to which I have a devil of a time trying to get the iPhoto program to work. At last (and because of some grumbling on my part (?)), DH came thru with downloading a full package with Photoshop CS6.  Well I was due for the upgrade anyway but he felt the MacBook was expensive $$$ enough for this year and I could do with basic PSE Element until after Christmas. Ha!!

Feeling guilty about the Quilt Guild - have not photographed a program since April, notified the program chair that I would resume documenting our meetings once settled in but little did I expect that 'settling' would take so long.  July's meeting featured Augusta Cole, a dynamite quilter from Richmond, VA whose workshop I missed and did not shoot any candid's of the meeting.  Next time Augusta!

Dinner tonight is to meet old friends who have returned from walking the Camino from San Sebastian to Santiago de Compostela, Spain - a 40 day hiking-excursion if that word fits - ending in the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela before a statue of St. James.  I want to hear all about it, stay tuned.
