GIVE IT UP

There comes a point in life where your only recourse is to give it up. That time has come to me.

APPS have already changed my life and for the better. The first trial of using Diet Lite is showing exactly what I have to do to lose weight: either workout more or eat less.

And if that wasn't a revelation, I tried the 'workout more' path last week and have since paid the price. After three consecutive days of workouts, yesterday (Sunday), I totally crashed and tried to rest without overdosing on pain pills. DH keeps reminding me "no pain, no gain." He likes to live dangerously.
But again my new APPS proved to be helpful. the iRelax app offers the sounds of rain, birds, flute, river or ocean waves and is a definite keeper for my iPod/Touch.
Thank you Apple for introducing the iPodTouch and thank someone who programs these niffy apps. Today's calorie count is underway and if I stick to fluids this morning I will earn an afternoon snack. Perhaps a peanut-butter apple. Yum!
Giving up sweet and wonderful tastes, my love of cooking and dining has dissolved into soups with thin broths and salads with everything [Kitchen Sink Salad]. We have dined on both recently.
January is the annual DOQ Silent Auction and I have just loaded the car with 8 cartons of fabrics; some quilting, some fashion, some scraps and some my very favorite colors. Going, Going, Gone! DH is making plans for the "BIG move" to a CCC* by 2012 and my stash of fabrics, planned crafts, stored patterns and books ($$books), has got to go. Dinner last night began a conversation about "how much" to keep, to let go, to give away (my Sister is good for some). Whatever happened to "She who dies with the most fabric wins!?" Not only can you NOT take it with you; you cannot even keep it all until then!!
So after two trips to the liquor store to gather boxes, the past several days have been spent sorting, discarding, saying goodbye and getting the boxes into the car. My only consolation is that tonight they will go to someone who values fabric as much as do only that person will have more storage space than I.

Sis just called. She's in the midst of a 'house make-over' for a neighbor-electrician whose wife is visiting her parents. The point is to have the house upgraded, painted and decorated before she returns home. Sis could be doing a TV show. Good thing I got all the fabrics sorted and pulled curtain rods, sheers and upholstery samples for her.

As the saying goes, when one door closes another one opens. Much as I dread moving and getting used to a new abode there will be advantages. One is I will never be sorting and discarding my favorite fabrics again. Well probably not. Maybe a few.
