SUNDAY AFTER HAITIAN EARTHQUAKE

The weekend news is all about the relief efforts for Haiti and helping where you can.

Supporting relief efforts is all about raising money for relief quickly. A current blog from Bonnie K. Hunter, asks readers to also send utilitarian quilts. See: http://quiltville.blogspot.com/

My friend Nancy broadcast information about donating to the UMCOR, United Methodist Church Overseas Relief, which has been active in Haiti for some time.

Recently I found this charitable source:

The coin-sorter machine at Harris Teeter Supermarkets allows you to dump pocket change (all those loose pennies and pocket change that's been collecting for months), with the option of donating the monies to charities, the American Red Cross being one of the choices.

OK isn't specifically for Haiti, but the RedCross needs all the help they can get right now. And what were you going to do with that change anyway? Those coins will add up!

Tomorrow night is the monthly DOQ meeting and I have six cartons of surplus fabric yardage for quilters in the silent auction. Past auctions have been a real boon to our fund-raising efforts and contribute much to our educational efforts.

We will not have Afternoon Ballroom Monday as the Seymour Center is closed for Martin Luther King Jr's Birthday holiday. We dance again on Monday, January 25.

Must get heat pads and return to resting position. Did a kick-a** water aerobics class yesterday afternoon and my muscles are talking back to me this morning. And my hair is a fright. Neglected to make a hair appointment for January and was thinking about letting my hair grow for a few months to rethink styling. The way I look today, maybe I should rethink that idea.

Did I mention that Valentines Day is less than a month away? Later, bb
