Much of yesterday was spent trying to find a once-saved blog tutorial on making a photo-banner for my blog header - never found it. Googled again and again and found other items on making photo banners and blog additions until I tried one that seemed reasonable but turned out to be a Photoshop tutorial on just making a photo collage. Nice. But not what I wanted. So I began to search through photos (mega sort!!!), and wasted more than an hour trying to find photos that are to be found in multiple layers of directories that were transferred from the old PC. Nothing is where it's supposed to be and nothing that I did find got edited because I ran out of time. Bummer.
Did find a Texas lady's blog that discussed making your photo banner tell visually what your blog was about - children, dogs, painting etc. Double Bummer - what image says rambling thoughts best? Pulled up a file on a bright striped edging that I once made for a 4-color letterhead (never used because my old printer did not have the intensity), that may work on my new Epson 1430 printer or better yet - I could use that for the blog header. Maybe.
Today is Day Two of my thirty-day commitment to doing a daily workout (30in30), which will net me 20 hours of gym time at the end of the month - if all goes well. The reason for the August commitment is that DH is ready to schedule knee-surgery in September and will need me to be walking-strong to help him get thru therapy and healing. He's been good about helping me get groceries and managing household duties but I remain semi-ambulatory. After surgery he will be crutch or walker-bound and sore from whatever torture the therapist provides. This fall is going to be another 'phase' to get through and forget about. So I best get in some gym time.
Yesterday I felt great, did a kick-ass workout on the mat and free 5-lb. weights; did not sleep well last night and everything hurt this morning. But I worked through it - DH says "no pain, no gain." I'd like to shoot the guy you thought of that one. But I needed to sit down and blog for a while anyway.
Getting a sniffle; one of those summer, fan-air-conditioning-hi-humidity head sniffles that signals sinus trouble and may be the reason I did not sleep well. Have a little time before lunch and then must shower and dress for the foot doctor's appointment- time for x-rays of my foot. Will I ever walk straight again?
If anybody is actually reading these posts you may be wondering what happened between February and July. The short answer is: I have no idea. True we were packing the house, moving, under stress and duress BUT I did get a blog post in from time to time. Then something screwy affected my blog - entries began to disappear (?), for a time I could not log on, searching for 'Bonnie's Blurbs' got me no where; no such website (?), blog irrelevant (?) or a dozen other 'Bonnie blogs.' So I gave up for a while - if the blogosphere does not want to hear from me - why bother. Then a few days ago I logged on (no trouble), entered a test page and it worked. So I'm back only slightly the worse for wear. But I do wish the posts about the move, the closet delays, breaking my foot, getting 'rushed' by the campus residents and a few other odds were to be found. As for me the time of my life between mid-March and the middle of July is just one seamless blur that I would like to forget - like this booted foot is going to let me. As for the blog - who knows what happens in cyberspace?
Tomorrow I see sister Jan. Stay tuned. B
